Milos stands for stunning beaches! You can also find beautiful cycladic settlements plus ancient ruins plus catacombs plus good food but you will go there for romance and the beaches. Venus upon leaving this magical island left some of her beauty and sensuality behind.

Where to swim

There are more than 70 options. A small treasure is hidden in almost all the beaches. Milos' volcanic ground is mirrored in all the beaches. At the renowned Sarakiniko you will find bright white cliffs to dive from and turquoise waters. Papafragkas has a huge grotto and at Firopotamos, Firiplaka, Papikinou and Achivadolimni the scenery is similar. Some beaches you can go to by car but some are more difficult to reach, such as Tsigrado and Kleftiko where you can of course go by boat. You cannot go to all beaches just with one visit to the island but at least visit the ones mentioned above.

Where to eat

At Adamantas: at Lagkadas beach try Mediterranean dishes and sea food pasta at Aragosta (+30 22292, +30 6944416394).

On Palaiochori beach at Sirocco (+30 31201) you will have delicacies baked in the sand, lobsters and fish.

At Tripiti: at Ergina (+30 22524) you should try pitarakia and home made lasagna.

When in Milos you must try pitarakia, tomatokeftedes, cheeseballs (made from local cheeses), flaounakia, watermelon pie, “koufeto” a traditional sweet made with pumpkin, honey and almonds.

Nightlife

Milos is not known for long nights and bars. At the beach club Karnagio, at the port though, you can have drinks and cocktails listening to nice music all day long. The coffee bar Akri (in Adamantas), is on the stairs, has uplifting music, nice cocktails and Monkey Brain shots (ask for it). Walking in the alleys you will explore the islands magnificent chora, Plaka.
